Exotic Pets
BroncosDad - October 28, 2008
Boa Constrictors, Wild Cats, Vietnamese pigs, and alligators. Have you ever owned an exotic pet, or have you ever wanted to own one? What's your take on having an exotic pet?

I had a cousin who, in the 60's, would drive around in his convertible Mustang with a 6 foot python wrapped around him. He was single, and I think he only have it for a few months, but I remember thinking he was really brave. Actually, he was really nuts! :)

That is crazy! If I drove past someone and saw that I would probably think they were nuts.

Snakes! I hate snakes! Crazy would get my vote too. I'm sure he did it for the shock value, but I wouldn't let some big snake wrap itself around me!

Me either, that is just begging for it to do what it normally would.....wrap itself around your neck! Can you imagine if it had wrapped around his arm and impaired his driving!!!!

LOL...If you'd known my cousin, you'd know that impairing his driving would be redundant.

I have a friend named George who was out rounding up cattle in the mountains of Colorado. he came across an injured baby Elk. he brought it home, built a pen and nursed it back to health. Of course, that was illegal. After a few months, the voice of reason convinced him that he wasn't going to get away with having an elk as a pet. He put it in a horse trailer and released it back in the mountains. I worried that he had domesticated it too much and that it wouldn't be able to survive in the predatory wild. However, he only had it for a few months, so perhaps its instincts kicked in.

Here at the Disney office, the Family.com group has a little tank of Triops. Relatives of horseshoe crabs, they grow to 1 or 2 inches and have three eyes! Right now there are six of them... if only there were 7 we'd have named them after the dwarfs. The attached picture has a clear view of only one of them, the rest are swimming among the gravel at the bottom. The backgrounds were provided by other creative members of the team.
