Oh this question is so easy for me.....I have more than one party!! A party for our MOMS Club, a party for our close friends and family, a party at our synagogue, and then the day trip we take to Disney on her actual birthday. So I guess we have 4 parties and she is going to be starting dance soon so that will add party number 5 to my list. Its easier to have more than one small party then a giant large party but I do them simple except for the one for our close family and friends is very overboard!!
MOMS Club Party is usually at a park so the kids can play with a game, craft, and dessert
Synagogue Party is typically pizza and dessert
Dance Party is a snack/dessert after dance class with goody bags for the kids in class
Close Friends/Family is a BBQ with all the fixin's at home or our IL's house
and then of course there is Disney....special meal and only what she wants to do and see!!

I forgot to mention that we ask for no gifts at all of the parties because we just want to enjoy celebrating with our friends at these events!!

It all depends on where her party will be. Last year she had a party for all her friends from school, our family and friends from dance and gymnastics we had a party with 47 guests in a rented community centre. This year she her party was in our house a stylist came and did hair make up and nails then we had a tea party and sleepover so there were only 12 guests. And we also had a family dinner as well. :)

That's a good point on the venue - the location of your party directly impacts the size of your guest list. :-)
