For a few months when I was little, there was a lime green hat that I simply wouldn't leave the house without. It didn't matter if we were going to the grocery store or church, if we were headed out, I needed this Must Have accessory. My parents quickly realized that it wasn't worth the battle and let me continue with my fashion faux pas until I lost interest. Mom laughs now and says that it was a fun time letting me express my own identity.

What ways do your princesses express themselves? Share the funny stories and pictures of your princess in all of her extraspecial attire.

Aww, I think its cute that you had a favorite hat, no matter how gawdy. I cant think of any clothing items my kids have been like this with, but just in general my girls can be goofy when they play dressup. They dress hodge podge and try to be fashionable and it does make me laugh, but I love that they are trying to be creative and express themselves. If they did have a goofy, gawdy hat that they wanted to wear everywhere I would be all for it. It's all about self expression and I think it boosts their confidence.

I think you're absolutely right. It's a great opportunity to let them make a decision for themselves and show the world their true personalities.
