Christmas in the Outdoors
FamilyHost_Tom - December 09, 2008
What is your favorite Christmas outdoor activity? Taking a walk in the snow, making snow angels, sledding? How about driving around to look at the Christmas lights, or going caroling? Tell us what you like to do.

It depends upon my mood. If I want to have fun, I get the kids and go sledding and tubing. that's always enjoyable. If I feel mellow, taking a walk or watching the lights is great. In Amarillo, TX the city has a really huge light spectacle set up at a park that you drive through. Some of the best effects I've ever seen!

I like to do it all, well maybe not the caroling seeing I cannot carry a tune lol. I even like ice skating and having snowball fights! Oh I wish we would get more snow here!

For Chrismas, I like to have the kids make bird ornaments and hang them outside in the trees. It's easy to find evergreens here in NC, and there are plenty of birds during the winter (mammals too) so we watch them.

Sounds like you enjoy watching the birds as much as we do. We have 4 bird feeders that we have to fill every 3-4 days because we get to many different birds. What kind of bird ornaments do you all make?

We do Suet balls, pinecones with PB and birdseed, popcorn and berry garland (I like cranberries, but if you want to be frugal, birds like all kinds of berries that are probably growing in your yard like holly berries or beautyberries)

I helped put up Christmas lights over the weekend. That's an outdoor activity. LOL! I didn't have to do much, though. I'm not a ladder person, so I held the ladder and opened the boxes. We had ice and snow last night and the house looks pretty!
