We love to open each park everyday. We like to hit one of the major rides first and we do a fast pass right away as well. For instance at Disneyland we head straight for Splash Mountain, but along the way we fast pass Indiana Jones. It works out great to get a couple of the big rides down early.

We start our day at the park that has the early extra magic hours. Each park there is a must do ride. At MK the boys have to do Buzz lightyear space ranger spin first, at Hollywood studio this year was Toy story Mania, Epcot is the Sea's with Nemo, and finally at Animal kingdom we do the safaris. Then we just start going down our list of ride we want to do. This past years trip we stayed at the All star Movie resort my boys loved it. We stayed in the Toy story section. The boys loved that housekeeping would put our stuff animals in different places doing different things like they came alive while we where gone. They thought Minnie on the potty was hilarous. My husband and I perfer the Port Orleans Riverside resort.

Michelle, love the picture! I agree with your style, you sound like us. my older boys RUN to FP, Space MT and meet the 4 of us at Buzz or somewhere.

Ministery Mom, I also agree we Open each park every Morning and close each park every night. We've been known to go from 9am to 2 AM with a nap in the afternoon!!!

My kids love talking with Crush the turtle, hey little human dude!!

This pic is taken at The Seas reataurant near the Nemo ride at Epcot. Pricey but an awesome view!

Before we left, I cut out 4 sets of small pictures (1 inch) of each of the rides or shows at WDW. I got the pictures from ones I had taken before or off the internet. During the flight to Orlando, I gave each of the children a set of pictures from the Magic Kingdom and told them to pick their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for what they wanted to do most. I pasted our choices on a 4x6 index card for the Magic Kingdom. We repeated the procedure for each theme park. I kept the index cards in my bag so we could check them while we were at the parks. This way each one of us got to do what we wanted most.

Kidatheart09, Excellent idea! Keep the entire family happy and the arguments down! You could also make them ahead of time, laminate them, and reuse them each year!!!

Punch a hole in the corner and get a ring to keep them together! Did you color code them? Just thinking!!!

Yep, the index cards for each theme park were color coded. If we go again, we'll do our choosing before we go. When we went to WDW last October, my little ones did not know we were going until we got to the airport. We'd had a tough half year. I lost my job due to my daughter's disability. We moved to a bigger town to be near better medical facilities. I had heart surgery. The kids started at a new school - not easy when they are all three special needs kids. So after my older daughter's wedding in October, the little ones and I went to WDW. They do not handle anticipation very well, so I didn't tell them we were going. They were so surprised and it was great for us to focus on having some fun for a few days.

The first time we took my oldest to Disney, my oldest boy was was just over two years old and I was pregnant with my second. We arrived after a long day of travelling and went straight to the Magic Kindom, getting there after dark and during the fireworks. As Jack was overwhelmed, tired and cranky, we chose to skip the rides and go meet Mickey first. To our delight, there was no one there, and Mickey sat on the floor and Jack smiled and ran in to give him a hug. The photographer just kept snapping, and these are still some of my favorite pictures. We still repeat this pattern, going to get pictures with the characters during parades, fireworks, etc. when we can.

The other thing we like to do when we open Magic Kingdom (since we still have toddlers) is to take the train right to Toon Town while everyone's piling into Main Street. The train is big with my boys, and when you get there Donald's Boat play area is open until they open the rest of it. When they open Toon Town, the characters all come out to visit with the kids and drop the rope, and then the attractions are quiet while the rest of the guests are working their way through the park.

So sorry to hear about your medical year. I can relate, kind of. 2007 and 2008 were not good for us either medically. I bet your kids were Sooooo excited when you told them at the airport and that the flight was a lot of fun!

That's a wonderful tip about the train! I didn't know they would let you play over there like that! Learn something new every day!!
