Hi everyone! My name is Glynne. I'm here & I need encouragement, support & probably even a shove or 2 to get myself to loose weight to be more healthy.
This last Sat. (10/04) I had the scare of my life. My hubby, H, who has diabetes & was battling an infection in his gums (he's always had issues with his teeth) woke up screaming in horrible pain. I rushed him to the local med. clinic who sent him to the ER. That was the beginning of everything unraveling!!! :-(
For some reason his heart started just going nuts! It would be at about 75-80 bpm & all the sudden skyrocket up to nearly 200 bpm. Drs. & nurses were fearing that he was on the verge of a heart attack!! I've been married to him for nearly 20 yrs, & I'd like to be with him for (hopefully) another 20.
He was released late on Tues. He is doing better, but I realize that we have a lot of work ahead of us. I want us to loose the weight & be healthier...I'm sure that'll help us reach that goal.
To begin this journey my goals for the next couple of months is this:
1. Walk 20 mins. a day, increasing that by 5 minutes each week.
2. Cut down on the sodas to no more then 1 a day.
3. Increase H2O intake to at least 8 glasses a day.
4. Cut down on the snacks/sweets & increase the healthy foods like fruits/veggies.

Sorry this is kind of long. I'm really looking forward to being an active & supportive member of this group. Thanks!!
