Do you 'Twitter'?
FamilyHost_Pia - June 24, 2009
Twitter is a free social networking service that enables its users to send and read each others' updates, known as tweets. It seems to be a great hit and has a lot of followers, including celebrities and even politicians. While I have checked some local weather twitter blogs, I have yet to twitter myself. Do you or your kids twitter?

I have not twittered yet ... with work and email and facebook, I don't think I have the time. I bet one day I will but not any time soon. I look forward to hearing what others have to say about Twittering!

It's the same for me, Jennyboots! Maybe on the next rainy day I could check it out some more!

You can Twitter, but unless you have people sign up to read your tweets, no one is going to read them. I'm not all that crazy about it. I think its a fad that will pass. facebook has somewhat the same features. You can follow celebrities tweets, but you know, i don't really care what they think about stuff for the most part. :)

I think it's mostly young people that follow this on a regular basis.

I don't understand Twitter. It makes me feel old and I'm confused by its purpose. ;-)

Don't feel alone! My kids told me, mom just think of it as a huge instant message with a bunch of people at once lol

I Twitter, though I still don't quite understand it (to be honest). Since I'm a blogger, I am using it to send messages out to my "followers" in between blog posts. Plus, I am able to have others find me as my Tweets get passed around, which brings in more traffic to my blog. So far, I just keep it on in the background whenever I'm working at the computer. The real-time component is useful to me--I can find out about a good deal or applicable sale that I might blog about early in the morning as opposed to having to scan/read a bunch of pages to get the information.

Sounds like it comes in very handy to you! I do have to say that I liked it the time I followed the tweet about our stormy weather. We had our local weather man keeping us up to date and other tweeters letting us know what the weather was doing in their neighborhood. That was pretty neat!

Actually, thats a pretty good description, although in order for it to be like an IM, everyone in your "group" needs to follow everyone else in the group.
