Cell Phone Accessories
FamilyHost_Pia - May 07, 2009
Ringtones, faceplates, cell phone cases, bluetooth sets, etc. Do your children just have to have the newest "stuff' when it comes to their cell phones?
My daughter just wanted a different faceplate for her phone while her brother buys a new ringtone what seems to be once a month (I can't say much to him though seeing he is paying for it himself). I just can't see myself spending money on this!

My youngest wants a new phone every week. And now that they're coming out in different colors it makes her even more crazy. She's settled for getting decals or stickers that she can use to decorate the phone. I'm not willing to pay for it so she's left buying her own stuff.

Your daughter sounds like my son! I am just glad he has a job now to pay for his extras!

The issue is that our phone has become so much more than just a phone. For instance, I have an iphone. I keep my calendar and schedule of events, with appropriate reminders. I use it to check my email several times a day. I use it to take pics and send them to customers and reps. I don't use it much, but it's also an ipod so I could listen to music. There are several games for when I'm stranded or have a period of free time. But beyond those things, the phone is going to become the indispensable tool in the future. We'll control our thermostats and lights using our phone. (ihome is already a reality) We'll use it to integrate our job and life. Yeah, all of the accessories are distracting. I only have a charger and a set of earphones, so its pretty low maintenance. But I understand the desire to remain current with technology. Good or bad, its hear to stay.

Yep, it is here to stay! My kids got me a faceplate and ringtone as part of my Mothers Day, they said that I needed to "get with it" :D

LOL, forget my children....it's my husband who always wants the new stuff! He makes me crazy with all this stuff. He always wants the phone that takes pictures and he has a different ring tone for everyone who calls him......AYE! He has a bluetooth for when he is driving.....me? I have a nice, simple flip style phone, no bluetooth, no ring tones and my phone works better than his! LOL, mine was cheaper and smaller to hold...no fanciness and works the best.....
