When you travel to other countries, the food and presentation will be different. Do you embrace the new and different dishes, or are you hesitant to try something until you know what it is, where it came from, and how it was prepared. Let's talk about the food in other nations. Not acceptable?
I know that when visiting Mexico the caution is "don't drink the water." Is that pretty much common wherever you travel?

In Mexico we were told that the water in the resorts was ok but I still bought bottled water! I think that it varies from country to country as far as others. Not acceptable?

I think I'd play it safe. I imagine being sick so far from home would not be pleasant in any way. Not acceptable?

Oh no it's not ... we went on a cruise a while back and I had a 24 hour bug ... and so did my little one! It was not pleasant in the tiny room on a cruise ship!! Not acceptable?

That does indeed sound terrible. I hope it didn't last too long. Not acceptable?
I remember travling into Spain and stoping for dinner and ordering srimp. I was around 12yr. I was thinking of the srimp we ate fried. Here comes my plate with boild srimp( which wouldn't be bad) the whole srimp head tail tentacals all of it. yuck. ( What can I say I still don't like things with it's head on). That was the worse I can remember other then that the food was ok. As long as we didn't have to eat something my dad had to ( like cows toung the whole toung skin and all came on his plate and monkey brains which was(is) a delicacy). Not acceptable?

My mother would eat cow tongue from time to time. I could never stand trying it. Monkey brains remind me of that Indiana Jones movie where they are served monkey brains. I think I could pass real easily on that kind of food. :) Not acceptable?
I love comparing the different ways the Mediterranean countries do their seafood dishes. I especially love the Paella dishes from Argintina, Peru, and Spain. I remember my daughter going once " They use What to dye the Rice Black?!!!!" Not acceptable?

Our last trip to " Russia", especially St. Petersburg. was a riot. Apparently the rule about taking food into and out of countries no longer applied. The list of recommended things that you bring your own of was mind boggling.Water was indeed on that list. Especially if you had a documented medical condition that called for special diets. Not acceptable?
