We were actually at Niagara Falls this spring. We had gone to Rochester for a family wedding and decided to drive over to the falls - about an hour away.
The Canadian side is commercial. It really felt sterile - typical touristy stuff you would get anywhere. But who cares? All of that is behind you as you stand facing the Falls, which are amazing.
This was the view from our hotel room.
