Neither my family or my husband's family had many traditions, so we have started our own. When the kids were little we used to send them on a hunt around the house on Valentine's Day to find little gifts along with a clue to finding the next gift. We bought little goodies at the dollar store and they had a blast. For Christmas one tradition we do each year is to not label the kids' gifts with their names. There is a different code each year and they have to try to figure out which gifts are theirs by breaking the code. The kids are older now and still insist we keep this tradition up. One year my hubby forgot what the code was and it was a hoot as each kid opened a gift and then looked at it and then at us to see if it belonged to them or not.

What cool traditions! I love the story about hubby forgetting the code! That's something I'd do, so I can relate! LOL
