Valentine's Day Sweet Hearts
FamilyHost_Annabelle - January 03, 2009
Conversation Hearts have been around since the turn of the last century. My mom used to put two or three in our lunch boxes each school day between Groundhog's Day and Valentine's Day, and my friends would gather around to see which cute sayings would be on that day's sweet hearts. To this day I love decorating Valentine treats with conversation hearts.

Tell us about the fun you have with conversation hearts, and while you're here, check out the recipe for Conversation Heart Fudge at http://jas.familyfun.go.com/recipefinder/display?id=40793.

Besides using them on treats, the conversation hearts can be used to practice sorting and counting with little ones.

I still love these. Thank goodness they are still around to share with the kids. My teenagers still get a kick out of them!

I went to the store yesterday to pick some up, and they aren't out yet! I want to get started on the roof of the cookie house we're making. I hope they're available next trip!

In case you don't read party ideas, Don't forget, you can use them in Valentine Bingo for school parties.
Desurae uses them to mark the board.

I made the board on the computer and put the heart sayings under each letter instead of numbers. Then the kids also used the candies to mark the playing board!

Elementary kids love this version of the game! Especially when you update the messages to say things like "Text Me"!

My daughter decided to make her own Conversation Hearts to hand out this year. She took the construction paper heart craft, filled it with the heart candy and then decorated them with foam letters to make sayings.
