Thanksgiving Family Traditions
FamilyHost_Annabelle - November 07, 2009
One of our many Thanksgiving traditions in our extended family includes preparing a Thanksgiving dessert buffet for family members who can't make it to Thanksgiving Dinner. Last year it was at my house, and we were packed like sardines, but it was still fun. This year my sister is hosting dessert, which begins around 5pm and ends when everything is gone or everyone is full. Our family pie maker is bringing pies, we're ordering a cake (because it's the 50th birthday of one of the cousins), and I'm making cookies and squares. The buffet is just an excuse for all of us to get together and catch up on what's been going on since the last Thanksgiving buffet.

What are some of the Thanksgiving family traditions you and your family enjoy? Share them here! Photos would be welcome!

One of our Thanksgiving traditions is that in addition to the traditional cranberry sauce, I always try some new recipe that has cranberries in it. In the past it has been in the bread, pies, cake frosting, in a pear/cranberry crisp and more. I have not found a recipe yet for what to make with cranberries in it this year. If anyone has any ideas, that would be great.
