Thanksgiving Decorations and Crafts
FamilyHost_Annabelle - 3 weeks ago
Our family loves decorating for fall, especially Thanksgiving. There's nothing cuter than cut-out hand print turkeys from when the kids were little. This year, my youngest cousin's kids have already started making the rounds with their digital camera in preparation for the Pilgrim Napkin Rings which can be found at http://familyfun.go.com/thanksgiving/thanksgiving-craft-decorations/thanksgiving-table-decorations/pilgrim-napkin-rings-673452/. I'm making the printed place mats as a hostess present for my sister who is hosting our Thanksgiving holiday dinner this year. They can be found at http://familyfun.go.com/thanksgiving/thanksgiving-craft-decorations/thanksgiving-table-decorations/corn-print-place-mats-663557/.

What are you making for your Thanksgiving tabletop this year? Share your crafty ideas and photos with us!

We will not be making anything because our household goods will be getting picked up on the 23&24 of November ( We are moving) But if we were hosting Thanksgiving those napkin rings would be on my list for sure... i guess it'll have to wait till next year!!...Thanks for the great ideas!!

The most fun part of this has been watching the kids have fun with the camera. This year we decided to make funny faces for the camera. The kids aren't going to let us see the pictures until the big day!

My kitchen has been apricot for 3 years and this is the season where my relatively new plates are perfect. I love the plastic leaves tablecloth from WalMart last year which is wrinkly beyond belief. My 5 children from ages 22 to 8 all complimented me retrieving it a couple of weeks ago from the back of the miscellaneous cupboard. I got 2 small dark maize apple shaped bowls from Christmas Tree Store which I served my husband and my daughter a corn soup I had never tried before. He loved the soup, she hated it, but had pomegranate in it the next day.
I designed cards at Vista Print to say happy thanksgiving instead of Christmas last year and had 3 cards left. All three I've added Halloween photos and my son right before his homecoming. My family does not live close and mail and email and phone are how I celebrate with them.

Last Thanksgiving my sister's twin preemies had just come home from NICU. I made them turkeys for their table by photocopying the newborn hands and feet on fall-colored paper. I cut out the hands and fanned them out like tail feathers, then glued to the end of a pinecone. For the turkey head, I used a footprint, toes down, and drew on eyes. For my then-2yo, I just traced her hands and foot on red, yellow, orande, and brown construction paper. We put them together on a paper plate instead of a pinecone so we could mail it to Grampa.
