Who's making costumes for their kids or themselves? Do you have past ideas you'd like to share (maybe even a picture or two)? Let's share our ideas!

Last year I put together the witch costume from the Family Fun magazine for my daughter. I dressed it up by sewing on a yarn edge and using neon colored thread to stitch in spider webs to match her hat. She loved it so much that she wants to wear it again this year. We'll see if she changes her mind when this year's Halloween magazine comes out! I also made the scarecrow costume for myself which turned out really cute.

What an awesome witch costume. Was it easy to make?

And, do you have a picture of you in the scarecrow costume? I'd love to see it!

It was easy and fun to make! I don't have any pictures of the scarecrow costume.... I like to take the pics, not be in them :)

I'm with you, desurae. I don't like being in front of the camera either.

You have to check out this Halloween pen that you can make. I'm going to make up a few of these for my husband to take to work and put by the cash register for customers to use on Halloween. http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11131

For my Daughter's second Halloween I dressed her up as a 'Pumpkin Princess'. I used an orange satin (the kind you get for a dollar a yard around halloween) and made the bottom of the dress poof and gather like a pumpkin. Then I whip stitched around the sleeves with black embroidery thread, and made her a cape. Also, I took a head band, wrapped wire around it to look like a stem and wrapped that with green ribbon. It was pretty easy for anyone who can sew...I did it all with out a pattern. I have pictures...and I will post them soon (I am at work right now....lol).

I have just been informed that my daughter wants to be a water fairy this year (like the one in the Disney Fairy book series). Anybody have any ideas on how to make that?
