Logan, age eight months, is opening his first (ever) gift on Christmas morning 2008. What is inside the package is far less interesting than the texture and flavor of shiny, crinkly paper. I wonder myself, "What does wrapping paper taste like?" then imagine a bland blend of paste and dye. Better not try it. Meanwhile Logan is smiling so wide as the paper dissolves in his mouth and drool drips down his chin.
My mental notes at time of photo--
For now: Relish this beautiful moment of wonder and discovering while keeping baby from swallowing/choking.
For later: Invent peppermint flavored, non-toxic wrapping paper for babies (and curious parents). Make millions.

This is a Photo of our two daughters (Violet Clare-2-1/2 & Ivy Paris 8 months old, at the time this picture was taken) This was Ivy's first time looking at a lit up christmas tree- we try every year, to get a great picture for our christmas card, so we put the gate around the tree so they can't touch it, and once we have our cameras ready, the gate comes down, and we have an official "tree lighting" and try and catch the wonder and amazement on their faces when the lights shine for the very first time, to share with all of our friends and family- i will also post this years holiday first of the tree lighting too!
thanks!
