I just read this on ABC News: A new study says that potentially disease-causing germs can get trapped in showerheads and grow into biofilm, or coats of slime that deliver a bacteria blast along with your hot water. (full article can be found here: http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory?id=8570765) This is very scary! I do clean my showerheads every time I clean my bathrooms and I take a bowl of peroxide and dunk the showerheads in it about once a month but now I wonder if I need to do more! What do you think about these findings and how do you keep your showerhead clean?
Gross. I'm lucky that the bathrooms are generally the one area of the house that my husband is responsible for, and he generally does a good job. I'll have to share that article with him! Not acceptable?

Oh, you are so lucky to have a hubby that helps out in this way! I do have to say that when my hubby cleans, he actually uses peroxide and a toothbrush! I just wish he would do it more often! :x Not acceptable?
My mother is a nut about germs. For as long as I remember, she has always sprayed the tub/shower with a solution of 1 quart of water with 1/2 cup bleach, and I know she does the shower head as well as the opening of the faucet and the inside of the drain and handles. She sprays everything else as well. Our house used to smell like a swimming pool on Saturdays. Not acceptable?
Ewww ... I wonder if I can take my showerhead off ....

I can just unscrew mine. During day to day cleaning I just spray it with peroxide but once a month I take it down and soak it in it and then scrub it good. It sure makes me feel better! Not acceptable?
