This time of the year you see farmers markets on just about every corner. They all strives to bring you healthy, fresh, local food and some even offer activities to make it fun for the whole family. I have to say that I just visited one of my local markets to purchase the items I do not grow myself and I was shocked at how expensive everything is this year! Do you shop your local farmers markets?

Yes I do, and Yes it is! It's enough to make me think about tilling my back yard and growing my own!

I really like shopping at the farmers markets near me. In addition to great fruits and vegetables, they offer chickens, eggs and so much more.

Yes thing are so much more expensive now and let's not even begin to discuss the price of organic fruits and veggies. The sad part is healthy foods continue to become more expensive while junk food is still quite cheap.
Every year we go to a local farm that has pick your own fruits and vegetables so I'll be curious to see the prices this year compared to last. One thing though it's definantly cheaper and fresher that the supermarket!

Same for us and now we swap with neighbors...We get something of theirs that we didn't grow and they will get something from us. We already decided that next year we will all get together to see who will grow what, maybe this way we won't have to buy much else!
