Caffeine
FamilyHost_Pia - November 13, 2008
There is so much controversy out there about caffeine. Do you think you can enjoy your cup of coffee or are there health dangers in our lattes?

As a drug, caffeine can cause problems. Its not the one or two cup a day person who is in danger, its the one or two pots a day person who is going to be affected by the caffeine. I like the smell of coffee, but not the taste. I do have it from time to time, but not often anymore. It is the ultimate recreational drug. But it can be as addictive as other drugs. Just my tandem coppers.

I like coffee now and then, but supposedly it's not good for a woman's health, so I stay away from it. I'm really a tea drinker.

I do have to say that I do enjoy my coffee every day. I am trying to switch to decaf now, I wonder if this is as bad as the regular stuff?

I have removed almost all caffeine from my diet... it helped lower my blood pressure. My coffee is the only caffeine drink and that is only half caff and I only have 2-3 cups a day.

You are doing great! Have you noticed any caffeine withdrawals? I noticed I get headaches until I make myself a regular cup of coffee :(

Surprisingly no headaches or anything! Even my husband does not mind the half caff coffee!

I am the coffee drinker of every doctor's nightmare....seriously though, I drink my coffee. I have researched this for years. I've tried half caff and have gotten terribly sick (tried it more than once) My body does not like decaf for any reason. However, I drink more water than anyone I know. My Doc says he doesn't get why,but my system doesn't react to "drugs" like normal people's bodies. I do know that if I'm trying to sleep and keep tossing that 1 cup of coffee will make me pass out blissfully. I only like regular coffee. Maybe a fake cappuccino once in a while. Give me my coffee or I can not function. I also have my no caffeine time throughout the day.

There's usually something bad about everything at one time or another. George Carlin once said, "Scientists have discovered that saliva causes cancer... but only when swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time." Everything is bad for us in one way or another. So, if giving up caffeine is better for you, I wouldn't worry about how bad the decaf is for you. Know what I mean?
