When do you start decorating for Halloween?
gmyengel - August 30, 2009
I get so excited when Halloween begins to approach. I wonder when is the appropriate time to start decorating the house? I usually start around October 1 st. but I made so many cute things last year I am eager to start. When does everybody else start?

My son and I really enjoy Halloween. If it were up to him the decorations would have been up in September. I usually get the decorations out the first weekend in October.

I wanted mine up sooner too AAB714 ... but I have been so busy. Maybe this weekend I can work on it!

Sept 28th, I was home, hubby was home, the kids were at school so we started. Still have to do the outside but we have spookied the inner sanctum. We all love Halloween and it gave me such a boost with such cold dismal weather. Can't wait for next Monday when we will be home together to do the outside.

Today was the day, it has been dreary cold and I just wanted some warm colors to liven things up. Hung up the wreathes, pulled out the knick-nacks and put away the summer stuff. Our home gets 'phased in' for each holiday - I add decorations just about every day, so there is always something new and exciting to see.

I also start in early October. This year I am stuck in bed with the flu and am anxious to be well enough to begin decorating. I love this time of year! From here on out there are so many fun holidays!

I start decorating October 1st as well. Its such a fun and funky holiday, My daughter loves it and our whole family get's into the fall spirit when we break out our miniature halloween town, put it up and turn it on for the first time. I am already looking forward to pumpkin patch weekend, so we can begin our pumpkin carving, baking and fun!

I start early but, this year has been so off. I like to decorate in and out doors the more decorations the better.

I grew up in Michigan but have lived in Florida now for over 15 years. I really miss all things fall related. So...once I start seeing Fall and Halloween decorations in the stores I want to decorate the house but I usually wait until October 1st. My husband used to be surprised to see the decorations out so early but has learned over the years to just let me go. :)
