School Closings
Shelstory - October 28, 2009
I just found out that a friend's school closed it's doord because one child was diagnosed. I think we have hundreds in our schools with H1N1, but closing has never been talked about. How about you? Have schools in your area closed or cancelled activities because of swine flu fears?

We have had a high number of absences over the past few weeks. Schools did not cloe, however they did cancel a dance and some other non-sports activities. There is a vaccination clinic set in the schools for later in November and so far about 20 percent of the student population's parents have given permission for their kids to be vaccinated against H1N1.

We just received an email newsletter from my son's middle school saying that the flu-related absences are down, and absence levels are returning to the normal rate for this time of year. I would love to know the total number of absences when it was at its height. And, are we to assume that lower flu absences will remain the norm now that so many kids have either had the flu or the vaccine?

I am really suprise nothing ever closed or got cancelled around here.
