This week I changed over to a permanent coffee filter instead of disposable ones.
Green Tip of the Day:
Bringing your favorite travel mug to your local coffee shop is an easy and way to make a difference. If you're staying to enjoy your drink, ask to have it served in the café's own ceramic mug. Of course, the greenest, cheapest coffee option is to brew your own at home!
Green Tip of the Day:
Soy is often considered a meat alternative, and as tofu or tempeh it fills this role nicely. Consider including either of these if you cook noodle dishes or curries, where they can really soak up the other flavors of the dish.
Green Tip of the Day:
When taking a vacation away from home minimize your waste whenever possible and bring home things that matter, like pictures, instead of impersonal souvenirs that were probably imported.
Green Tip of the Day:
Consider using a chlorine alternative to keep your pool clean. Excessive exposure to chlorine has been linked to elevating the risk of lung damage, miscarriages and bladder cancer. Chlorine and other toxic pool chemicals are no good for our bodies or the natural environment.
Green Tip of the Day:
Half the battle is ensuring that your lawn is planted with the appropriate kind of grass for your climate. Do some research to figure out what variety you should plant. The right selection in the right climate, your grass can go naturally for periods of time without water.
Green Tip of the Day:
Using soaps that are phosphate-free is important for protecting our nation's fresh water lakes, rivers, and streams.
Did you know a low-flush toilet can save a family of four 14,000 gallons of water per year, saving water and money in the process!
Another week to change our ways and lessen our footprints upon this earth.
