Oh, these shows real make me wonder why people don't have to take parenting classes BEFORE having kids. I watch too many people have kids just for the sake of having kids. My hubby & I resisted all his family & my family pressing us to have kids. It's not that we don't love kids, it's that we never felt stable enough...emotionally & financially...to properly raise the next generation.
Reality tv is NO place to raise a child. Actually any reality show turns my stomach. For this reason & this reason only...it's an exploitation. It exploits whatever "separates you from the next person".
Examples:
I have 8 kids, I have 18 kids, I was raised in a dysfunctional celebrity family, & the list goes on & on & on & on. GAG!!!!
Reality shows with children involving bug me greatly for 2 reasons:
Young childres have zero voice in how they are potraited. Great set-up for issues later on in life.
It makes people do really dumb things to try & get their own show. Remember the Octomom? I really & turely believe that Nadya Suleman had those kids for one reason & one reason only---fame. Forget the health & well-being of the babies/kids.
Then the people who force their kids into pagent after pagent in hopes of fame. Some of the stuff (being polite here) to their little ones is just insane!!!
Fame, from all accounts, is not what it is cracked up to be. It may have great highs, but with great highs come great lows. Lastly, how do you expalin to a young child why NO ONE is interested in them any more. Why NO ONE wants to watch them play, be silly or whatever. These parents teach them that everyone wishes they were them & then all the sudden the cameras are gone.
I see us in the future having shows in tv wondering whatever happened to _________ (you fill in the name of the "reality star"). How many will end up with addiction problems, broken family lives, or some other issue that can be traced back to being in front of the camera. No thanks!!! The fewere reality shows the better!!!
