Summer Check In

Just thought I'd ask how everyone's summer is going so far. Are you having a chance to enjoy it? While I am loving the summery weather and being outside more, I am finding that I am not getting nearly as many projects worked on as I thought I would. Maybe once the blazing heat of July sets in I will want to stay indoors and tackle the inside projects. A girl can dream, right?

  I think it must be hot all over the country. It's horrible here in Oklahoma. Going outside for an extended period of time can be dangerous. I mowed my lawn yesterday afternoon, and suspect I had a bit of heat exhaustion. I'm still wiped out today!

Oh goodness! You better be careful! It sounds like you might have the same weather as we do in TX. We had 104.7 yesterday and that is not the heat index :(

  The problem here is the hot weather! We could use some rain, everything is dry here and kids do not want to go out unless it is late in the evening or to the pool!

We ended up having two weeks of summer camp after our preschool year ended, so I haven't had much time to do things around the house. I want to try and have my lesson plans set for next year so I won't have to scramble at the end of August. I'm hoping to have that done in another week or so and then I can really spend July cleaning the house from top to bottom and organize some of our scarier closets.

  We're getting a ton of rain, too, and the problem with having all three kids in the house is that they're un-organizing all the work I've done up till now! :)

We've had so much rain here that we haven't been able to get out much. I've been taking the kids to museums, play dates and the library. My garden is looking great (thanks to Mother Nature making sure it's watered) and the backyard toys are all clean and waiting for the kids. I'm preparing for the fourth of July so that will keep me pretty busy.
One thing for sure we are definitely ready for the beach!!

At least I am not alone! I have been outdoors a lot, either tending to my garden, mowing or like this weekend, setting up a pool. I just hope that I won't be spending to much time in the pool now :(
