Coat Closets
FamilyHost_Cheryl - February 07, 2009
What's your family's take on the entryway/coat closet? Mine is filled to the gills with all of our coats, hats, gloves and boots. If we had company today I would have to kay their coat on my bed. I know some who leave the front closet just for hanging coats for guests. What about out of season coats? Do you leave them in the closet or move the out of season ones into the bedrooms and just leave the current season's coats in the front closet?

Seeing I just cleaned it out last week, I can proudly say that there is only one jacket hanging in there and about 2 hats. My kids usually hang their jackets up in their rooms and I don't hardly ever wear one. That is the only good thing about living down south lol

My coat closet is a mess!! There are coats, diaper bags ( I have quite a few in various colors), toys, bike helmets, phone books, papers....need I go on? The only thing I am good about is keeping seasonal coats in the basement closet. It is really a disorganized mess! I think I'm going to go start cleaning it out now while the kids are playing nicely. Wish me luck!

Thanks for posting the picture. I hope you'll post an "after" picture as well. Good luck on the closet. I'll be tackling mine right after work today.

Wow, great job on that closet maddoxabz. Wow, this is a project I need to tackle! Not just the coat closet but all closets! It's just so easy to throw things in and shut the door! Maybe I should work on that this week.

You go girl! You slay me with all your talent! LOL, I cleaned mine out yesterday. It's better but still needs some fine tuning. I like the rack on the side. Better go shopping :) As for seasonal coats, I keep them in the totes with the clothes! It takes up less room and they stack nicely in our shed!!

Thank you, thank you ( I'm bowing with a huge grin on my face...LOL!) It was a lot of work but I made myself finish it. The rack on the side was hubby's idea and it's great for extra storage space.
Brandybuzz it really is too easy to pile everything in and just shut the door. I guess that's why every closet in my house (with the exception of my newly cleaned coat closet) is a mess.
