That's a nice way to compromise.

We took forever to agree on the names of both our children. With our first we finally agreed on her first name and the middle was our mothers name (both our moms have the same first name) so that made it easy. With our second we agreed on a name early on and then changed it to something completely different about a month or two before she arrived. Poor kid almost didn't get named until the hospital lol.

Well although we each picked a name for our first... it was not decided til right before we left the hospital.

My kindergarten teacher's daughter's name is Carolyn. I've always loved that name, but I've always wished I could use a nickname for her...so I just changed it to Caralyn and can now call her Cara.

I picked Caralyn Mae when I was in 10th grade. I'm so glad my husband liked it!

My husband's name is Jonathan David and I wanted our son to have the same initials so we went with Joseph Daniel. Joseph is also my dad's middle name and no one else in the family is named Joey - we have a ton of duplicate names so I was avoiding that! The only problem now is everyone's name in the family starts with J - even the dogs - except me!
