Using your children to gain fame
FamilyHost_Pia - November 03, 2009
Of course everyone has heard or even followed the story about the runaway balloon. I have to say that I was really shocked when the little boy made the comment about it being for a TV show! Then there are the Gosslins, 'Octomom' and so many more! What do you think about parents using their children to gain publicity?

I think it's terrible ... the kids don't get to be normal kids. Though, with parents like those, they won't be normal anyway!

Parents have been making money off kids for a long time. Some of the lengths parents will go to get their kids into elite athletic programs so they can turn pro while the parents "manage" their career is another example.
If the parents plan, map out and target their kids to become famous so they can make money off them, then shame. Either way, parents shouldn't rake the profits from whatever their child makes. Recoup costs, perhaps, but using your kid to get on the gravy train is pretty sick. Guess I agree with the rest of you. :)
