I'm doing something like Thumperkids- cooking, mashing, and freezing. It's pretty easy. Nic seems to like about everything so far: chicken, carrots, apples, cereal, etc. - but he likes milk best! We started at about five and a half months, just a little cereal.

You are one busy mom! It sounds to me that they all start around 5-6 months old, even though one doctor told me not to start on solids till age 1. My child was hungry so I had to do something!

They sure can but we are convinced the baby can out eat all of them. She makes them look whimpy (that's their phrase). When we do the fast food treat like McD's, she has to have her own happy meal. It has to be a cheeseburger and there is never anything left over! She has a wonderful appetite and I hope she keeps it for a long long time.

We started when she was about 5 months old, maybe even 4 1/2. I just started out with the rice cereal and breast milk and or formula. Then I gradually started giving her baby food, the gerber organics. I had noticed she would get a redness patch under her eyes when I fed her the baby food and it looked like she had a reaction to the foods. So I stopped and now I boil all her veggies, fruits and meats food process it and she loves it! I make a big batch, stick it in ice trays, freeze it and then pop one or two cubes at a time.

We didn't start with solids until a little beyond the 7-month mark. Up until then he breastfed exclusively. We started with the cereals: rice, oatmeal, then barley (although I don't think we finished that box - it was pretty gross). Then we introduced green vegetables, orange/yellow ones, and then fruit. We never did the jarred "dinners". As soon as he was good with fruits and veggies we moved to real food: peas, hamburger, etc.

I have to say that I did the jars for a little while, then I came to my sense and just mashed up what we had.

I started when we had to start buying 2 cans of formula a week... hungry little girl! First with cereal then added the fruit and veggies. She seemed to like only the orange veggies!

That is how it was here, only my daughter liked bananas and carrots while my son prefered peas and pears. Weird kids lol

Oh let's see, when they started consuming more formula than the so called amount I contacted the pediatrician and told him I was starting them on cereal. Just cereal at first mixed with formula. Then I started with vegetables and fruit last. Funny, they all eat fruits and vegetables first no matter what else is around, even junk food. My 18 yr old eats everything. My 15 yr old is a vegan. For the most part my 4 yr old is a vegetarian (very picky about what meat he will eat). My littlest will eat what ever i give her. Tonight she stole a piece of corn off my plate and then wanted more. She actually took my plate of food while I was helping her big brother! Stinker butt! They all eat a lot and quite frequently throughout the day. Sometimes I think I run a restaurant right here in my home and they all pick on me because they call home "Momm'as Place". I swear it's just for the food!
