First time mom syndrome
FamilyHost_Pia - January 03, 2009
Have you suffered from first time mom syndrome? You know with your first child everything has to be perfect, you go by the book! Then the second comes along and you do not worry about being perfect anymore. I have to admit that with my first, I was really going by the book and everything had to be just so but when the twins came alone reality hit and I realized, it does not have to be perfect as long as you take care of your children and enjoy every minute with them.

Oh boy did I with my first baby girl!! I would not even let gramma give her a tiny bite of ice cream! With my second, I was so over that... and gee she was just fine! Now when I see a first time mom, I quietly chuckle!

I too started out this way with my oldest son. One day while at my Aunt's house I told her how the baby was always hungry and making me crazy. He was 16 days old at the time. She asked if I had tried giving him rice cereal yet? I responded with no, they said not to give him anything but breast milk or formula. She chuckled and pulled a box out of her cupboard. "I had a feeling you may need this" and she mixed it with some formula and you know what?, he ate the whole bowl and passed out. It was the longest he had ever slept! Guess what, he's always been a great eater and has never had a problem. Sooo, by the time 2, 3, & 4 came along I didnt wait, I jut listened to the baby!
