Time for a Picnic!
FamilyHost_Annabelle - September 13, 2008
Warm fall days lend themselves to long lazy walks and picnics afterward. What do you pack in your picnic basket?

Oh I love to have an old fashioned type picnic... fried chicken, lemonade, salads, and cookies!

A variety of cheeses, red grapes, a loaf of crusty bread, sliced deli turkey and some pesto are favorites in my picnic basket.

Delish! Pesto is one of my favorite foods. It makes almost everything taste better (well.. maybe not ice cream).

I'm with Jennyboots...I like the cold fried chicken, baked beans, potato salad, and lemonade. On the other hand, a bucket of KFC or a Wendy's grilled chicken sandwich isn't entirely out of the question, either!

We usually do picnics on the spur of the moment, so our basket usually contains a thermos of iced tea, popcorn, sandwiches of whatever is leftover from supper the night before, and a few pieces of fruit. When we plan a picnic ahead of time, it's homemade lemonade, barbecued chicken, pasta salad and fresh fruit.

Why go outside for a picnic? With winters that can drag on and on why not plan one in the living room! Lay out a blanket and pack the basket! The kids will love it!

When I was a child care provider, that's exactly what we used to do. It was so much fun! I haven't thought much about doing it since then, but why not? Sounds like fun! We could even get ant stickers and place them around the food for authenticity! ;-)

LOL, we just did this yesterday! Daddy came home sick from work and he went to bed with babygirl. Soooo, what do you do with a 4yr old who isn't tired? Have an indoor picnic. He was thrilled. He and mommy on a blanket with food, his cartoons and oh did I mention...just He and Mommy? He told daddy all about it and daddy says he's spoiled....I know father, he said, mommy always remembers fun things for just me!
