A week has gone by, and we still have leftover Halloween candy on hand. I've brought some to church, given some to the neighbors and still, a basket of sweetness remains on the counter. I was trying to drum up ideas and came up with candy pizzas for coffee hour at church. The recipe I used is below.
What are you doing with leftover candy? Even if you don't have candy leftovers, do you ever bake with candy? Share your recipes here!
Candy Pizza
Crust: 1/2 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed 1 egg 1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Toppings: 1 cup miniature white marshmallows 1 1/2 cups chopped candies (any variety)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 inch round pizza pan. In medium bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 1 minute. Beat in egg. At low speed, stir in flour and baking soda until well blended. Evenly spread dough into pan. Bake 20 minutes or until lightly browned; sprinkle marshmallows and candies on cookie during last 5 minutes of baking. Cool 10 minutes in pan on wire rack, then cut into 16 wedges. If you wait too long, you won't be able to cut into e cookie. Not acceptable?
Oh that sounds like so much fun to both make and eat! I wish I had given away all my leftover candy!

You can always buy more. ;-) I bet this would make a fun party activity for kids... get refrigerated sugar cookie dough, cut the tube into 12 pieces and have the kids flatten each piece out in their own individual pie pans. Top with candies and bake! Sounds like fun! What would you put on the top of your candy pizza if you were making one for yourself? Not acceptable?
