With Valentines around the corner, here is a fun easy snack that will brighten any day. Also great at Christmas (sorry, didn't get the recipie until after NYE), try it at your bowl bash. I don't do that, but ya'll probably do!
RED HOT POPCORN
1 Cup Butter (2 sticks)
1/2 Cup Light Corn Syrup (light color)
9 oz Red Hot Candies
8 Quarts Air Popped Porcorn - White, no butter
Place popcorn in 2 large bowls, unless you have a SUPER large bowl!!!
In a suacepan combine butter, corn syrup, and candies; bring to a boik, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour over popcorn and mix thoroughly. Turn into 2 greased 15 X 10 X 1inch cookie sheets. (My oven won't hold those big cookie sheets, we used the roaster!)
Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour every 15 mins. Remove from pans and plance on WAXED paper to cool Break apart; store in airtight containers or plastic bags.

Don't really like Red Hots, but I'm sure I can come up with someting to mix with that recipe. Just have to put on the old thinking cap.

Broncosdad, Well, you might try butterscotch!! I don't know if the butterscotch candies would melt! Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder if roobbeer candy would melt? I love rootbeer!
Interesting note: Did you ever see my holly cookie recpie? It has 3 red hots on top, picture in one of the recepie posts! Anyway, the neighbor gir 15, does not like redhots, loves the cookies at Christmas, takes off the redhots.
She downs this popcorn likes it going out of style!! I couldn't believe it!
