Fair Food!
FamilyHost_Annabelle - September 19, 2008
That wonderful stuff you get at the fair - fried dough, sausage sandwiches, corn dogs, and the list goes on. What's your favorite fair food? How about your kids? Are there any fair foods you enjoy so much that you make it at home?

Well I tried the funnel cakes. They are a snap to make. However, I am going to look for another recipe. Also I used plain ole vegetable oil, and the lady in the video said she prefers peanut oil which sounds better to me. I will keep playing with these until I get them right! Oh well, they look pretty!

They might get a little stale on the way to Oklahoma from Tennessee, but I'll share! Lol

I went to school at Milligan College, just to the east of Johnson City, TN. E. Tennessee is a gorgeous area of the country. And...stale funnel cake is better than imaginary funnel cake! he he he!

I love funnel cake, too. My husband loves frozen chocolate-covered bananas.

I've seen the signs for deep-fried Twinkies and Snickers but am too afraid of my arteries clogging on the spot. Has anyone ever tried these? Are they worth the year of ice cream we'd have to give up for it? lol

I'm not crazy about cotton candy, but I absolutely love a good corn dog. When I have the time, I make them at home. Here's my recipe:

Corn Dogs

2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar

Mix ingredients all ingredienets. Immerse hot dogs in batter and fry in hot oil until brown. Serve hot.
