There are a lot of things you can do to help others during the upcoming holidays. Helping the elderly put up decorations, taking them shopping, seeing if local shelters need help in serving food, "adopting" a poor family and help with meals and gifts. There are many other ways to serve others. Let's talk about what you are thinking about doing to help others this holiday season.

I am going to buy extra canned goods to donate to the food banks. Our school usually has a collection box and we generously add to it!

I really want to make a difference this year. I tried to institute family giving last year. My idea was to give each family member a specific amount of money and to allow them to decide where to donate it. That idea never got off the ground last year, so I am going to do it this year!

My family always makes some dishes for the local church groups or soup kitchen. We all need to know that someone is always less fortunate they we are. If you have family and love you can survive almost anything. This is a time to be grateful and to reach out to others. God Bless You All
