Is it true they typically film the Christmas Parade at the MK the first week in December? Maybe a common sense question, but does it dramatically effect the crowd size?

They do film the parade in advance, but I don't know exactly what day they do that. That having been said, you can count on the early part of December to be a good crowd size timeframe, so I would not worry about it too much. I have not been there for that particular day, but have never heard a grip

Disney does some "soft" advertising in regard to the days they film those parades. I'm sure a Google search would yield that information. My parents live near WDW & usually go to the filiming of the Easter & Christmas Parades. I've never known them to say it was particularly crowded. Of course, these are the same people who tolerate the sell-out crowds at EPCOT on New Year's Eve...

I like September/October best. Lower crowd sizes, perfect weather, and better prices.

I have been in May, Nov, and August and prefer November. Even during Jersey Week the crowds were lower than Aug and it wasn't as hot. We were just there during Fay and the rain kept the crowds away for the first 3-4 days, but they were back by Sat when the sun came out.

We really like November too! Weather is great, with the occasional need for a jacket. Crowds aren't too bad. I thought May was just too hot...but I'm not into heat.

I'm not sure I'm posting this under the right topic but... Have you ever done the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? If so, do you have any advice on things I 'must experience, must see, must do'? Is it crowded? Is it as fun as it sounds? I will be going early December.

MVMCP is really nice because the crowds aren't usually bad and just about everything is open with the exception of a few restaurants. I haven't been to WDW during December in a while, but it is something I'd do again.

Also, if want to get into the true meaning of Christmas, we LOVE the Candelight Processional at EPCOT. It feaures a full orchestra, large choir and a guest celebrity narrator who tells the story of Christ's birth (we've seen Lavar Burton & Phylicia Rashad). You can buy a dinner package which includes dinner at one of the Epcot restaurants and seating at the show. The shows run through the month of December until New Years. If you can't make it to the show and love Christmas music, I highly recommend buying the Candelight Processional CD - it is in heavy rotation at our house during Christmas.

When we go we usually go in December. You are right the Candlelight Processional is fabulous! I've never taken part of the MVMCP but figured I'd splurge this year and give it a go. Thanks for your advice! I am soooo very excited for our trip! 93 days and counting...
