Favorite Resort

Do you have a favorite resort? Why?

My husband and I have stayed at All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, Coronado Springs, and most recently Port Orleans Riverside. I liked them all, but so far I'd have to say I like Riverside the best. It may be because we live in the south and I love the old plantation house look, but it was very nice. I also really like the All-Star resorts. They're very whimsical and fun. I love seeing the characters every where.

We have stayed at all of the All Stars, Port Orleans, and Animal Kingdom. One year we got lucky and Port Orleans was closed during our reservation for remodeling. Disney being the great place it is upgraded us free of charge to the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

I would have to say we liked the Animal Kingdom Lodge the best. Being so up close and personal with the animals was amazing. My 2 year woke up each morning to a giraffe grazing right out our balcony. The magic in his eyes was unforgetable.

That is magical. I told my husband that once we have kids and they are old enough to love and appreciate animals that I want to stay at that resort. Thanks for sharing :-)

I love staying on Disney property period. We have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, Saratoga Springs and Animal Kingdom. I loved them all. I eventually want to try as many different resorts as I can then I will be able to say for sure what my favorite is. So far I liked Saratoga Springs best. Having a separate bedroom for my husband and myself was so nice. Plus the kitchen and washer/dryer was great. My personal feeling is as long as I am at Disney I could be in a tent and be happy!

I've stayed at the All Star Movie, the Caribbean and the Wilderness Lodge. My entire family loved the Wilderness Lodge. It was breath taking when we walked in the lobby. Taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom was so cool as well. I highly recommend it.

I know I've said it before but we LOVE Wilderness Lodge. We just returned from our trip there 3-weeks ago. We were there 12/4-12/14, it was a little slice of heaven :) Right after we checked in we went down to Roaring Fork (their fast service area) to grab some lunch. The nicest cast member walked over to our table and politely mentioned that when we are finished with our lunch she would love for my kids to come join her and create their own cookies. They had the best time-what a wonderful idea! I am including a picture of my kids waiting for the geyser to go off when we were on our way to the dock to catch a boat to MVMCP. (I made Christmas tie dyes for my family). We were also Flag Family one morning - what a wonderful experience!

Great picture. I love the geyser. It was so cool to watch it go off. Post more pictures if you have them I'd love to see.

I don't have a favorite resort yet, but we are taking our first trip to wdw in Sept. and I was wondering if anyone can share their experiences with me about the Contemporary. We are staying in the Garden Wing and I'd like to know if the rooms are similar to the rooms in the Tower. Also, where are the best places to see the fireworks @ the MK from the hotel? I know there's a restuarant @ the hotel that you can see them from, but is there anywhere else? If anyone has pictures I'd love to see them! Thanks!

I have gone to WDW twice. Both times we stayed at the Pop Century. It was cheap, clean, bright and fun. We have thought about staying at the moderate or the higher end resorts, but I could not justify the cost as we would leave early in the morning and come back from the parks late at night. Our room was just to sleep in. I suppose when the kids get older and we want to enjoy the actual resort more, the Grand Floridian or Animal Kingdom is where I'd like to stay. If you plan to be the parks all day the Pop Century is great.

Our favorite resorts are AllStar Movies & Pop Century. I agree with Javablendgirl, we're not in the room longer enough to justify paying for the mod or deluxe resorts. we are only sleeping there. My daughter loves the resorts too.

I've been through the Contemporary it seemed very nice. We are actually looking into DVC and buying into the Lakeside resort there. So let me know how your stay was there. It's so close to the Magic Kingdom.
