Best Places to Catch a Few Quick Winks at WDW Park
DisneyNurseIICU - August 28, 2008
We started taking my kids to WDW when they were 6 weeks old (crazy - I know, but my parents live in Orlando). The heat & over-stimulation can turn Happy kids into Grumy ones rather quickly. Luckily, my dad is a champion speed napper (should be an event in the Olympics) and knows the best places to catch some quick ZZZs. How about some suggestions on where & how to get little ones (and maybe bigger ones) to cool/quiet down & rest for a few minutes? I'll start...

MK: Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress
Epcot: American Adventure

The Storytime with Belle stage is this little shaded spot right behind the Castle on the way to Fantasyland. When there's not a show it's a great quiet spot just right off the beaten path. Great place to rest or sit with a stroller with a sleeping baby.

Minnie's Country House has a cute pink gazebo in the backyard. Most people just walk through the garden and head to Mickey's house and the Judge's Tent. That's also a nice place to sit down and rest for a bit.

The train around MK.
The monorail for as long as you like...take the resort one so you can go around and around...
The garden ride in living with the land at Epcot.
The Mexico pavillion...three caballeros is usually empty so you can stay on it over and over.

These are all great ideas. With the girls they had strollers, so they slept in those.

I'm a big fan of the people mover in MK. I take my husband there when he gets grumpy and needs a rest... yes I said my husband :-)

OK, that's funny! I will have to ask my wife to take me there so I can catch a few winks too!

Guys just love their naps!

I think that the lounge areas in the Child Care Centers in each park are great. A little ambient noise, some toys, and a LOT OF Air Conditioning. I have taken nieces there, and it really helped!

Oh yes! I love the Child Care Centers...they were such a life saver when we took my then 8 month old son. I'm so glad that Disney caters to even the youngest of fans! ;-)

I'm sorry... I don't know why I called it the people mover... I meant the Tomorrow Land Transit Authority

Absolutely! (almost too much air conditioning) And as a new mom they were great places to nurse babies in a private, non-chaotic environment! Animal Kingdom's is the best b/c the nursing rooms are all private. I once fell asleep in that one along with the baby! Never been in the one at Studios.
