As a kid I remember during the begining of Snow White a scene where her mom is sewing and pricks her finger. As the blood comes to a point on her finger she reaches her hand out the window and the drop of blood falls to the white snow and "stains" it. Then she said something like "her skin will be white as snow and we will call her Snow White" Well I watched the DVD last night for the first time in a very long time and that scene wasn't on it. Does anyone else remember that or was it something I saw in a book at some point during my childhood? My husband says that sounds really familar to him, but doesn't remember if it was from the movie or a book.... HELP!!! :-) Not acceptable?
Sorry, but I don't ever remember seeing that scene. Sounds a little gruesome for a Disney movie (they don't generally show blood). Maybe it was different version? Not acceptable?
You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you
Ok, so now I'm aging myself. YES, you have not lost your mind. That scene was cut out after too many people thought it was too gruesome. The original story has those lines in the beginning of the story. It is extremely hard to find. The story was rewritten to format the movie. Wow, I thought I was the only one left who knew the original version. That's how her mom dies and her father ends up remarrying in the first place. Mom dies from that finger prick. Nowadays they call it gang green (not sure of spelling). Not acceptable?

Thank you so much! I am so glad someone knows that I'm talking about. I'm only 24 so you're not aging yourself if I too remember that. Not acceptable?

It sounded familiar, but thanks for remembering. I would have been more like her husband, it sounds familiar, but I'm not sure where I would know it. Not acceptable?
I even double checked with my bookworm buddy. She nad I talked about the original story for hours. Only problem is, neither of us can remember if Rose Red was her sister or cousin. We both believe they were sisters. Twins actually. We both seem to remember that "One will have skin as white as snow and the other will have lips as red as a rose. The same rich color in my blood here." The original story is really quite gruesome, well, what do you expect...it's a Grimm Fairy Tale. Glad I helped you know you are NOT losing your marbles. Someone must have read you the original story or you actually saw the original movie quite young. Swear that movie is in THE VAULT somewhere!?! Wonder if we could get someone to check and maybe release it for "Parents only"? Not acceptable?

You must have told me stories in my youth, I remember Rose Red being her sister. I always wanted to know what happened to her. I bet if you ask Dave Smith on Disney Insider he'd answer your questions. Not acceptable?
