What's Unique in Your Midwestern City?
FamilyHost_Cheryl - July 01, 2009
I think every town probably has something that sets it apart from those around it. Where I live, in the summer, you can often find Superman on the corner near the local Dairy Queen. What's unique where you live or where you've visited?

Bartlesville, OK...The Price tower is something that Frank Lloyd Wright built, underwritten by the Conoco/Phillips company. I'll have to snap a pic of it and upload. It's kind of interesting looking.

He mostly just waves to people. I've heard that Dairy Queen is not crazy about him being on their corner and so lately he has been seen on the opposite corners at that 4-way intersection.

That Superman is hilarious! I work in Madison and we've got our share of, umh, err.....oddities. We have Uncle Sam outside of a tax preparer 4 months out of the year. State Street where you'll find just about anything from purple hair and piercings to street perfomers, beggers and preachers to hundreds of people walking the streets in Badger red. We also have the State Capitol where you might find someone working. :)
