A Midwest Thanksgiving
FamilyHost_Cheryl - 2 weeks ago
There is nothing I can think of that is better than Thanksgiving here in the Midwest. The friends & family, the crisp fall weather and the food (of course). Let's share our Thanksgiving plans, memories and recipes.

For my family Thanksgiving is on a rotation between my house and my sister's house and each family brings a part of the Thanksgiving meal. I will be making the desserts to take to my sister's house this year. Not sure what to make yet, but one of the things will have pumpkin in it because my boys and husband love pumpkin. One might be a cheesecake because I have a slew of cheesecake recipes and it's one of my favorite things to bake. After the dishes are done we always play a new board game. Some years we will also play bingo with gag prizes that every family saves all year and brings to the holiday.

What are your plans?

I'm going to spend it with my brother and his family in Tulsa. I'll bring my appetite and some dessert of some kind, and my brother and I will gorge ourselves and then retire to the den to pretend to watch football while we snore loudly. :)

Pretend to watch football? Turkey can do that to you. I wanted to watch the Giants-Denver game, but it is on a channel we won't get where I am going. Not sure which of the remaining two games we'll end up watching.

Getting together with all the cousins was a favorite time of mine. Have a great time visiting with yours for Thanksgiving!
