Let's talk about visiting California. Every day lots of people come in and visit California for one thing or another. We have Mt. Shasta for skiing and for camping. There is Beautiful San Francisco with it's trolley cars and amazing foods. Then there is the never sleeping Los Angeles where you can find anything at any time of the night, never a dull moment for sure.

When you have visited California what brought you here, and did it live up to all your expectations?

I've only been to California once. We had a work conference out there and I was able to spend a few days in San Francisco, Carmel, and Pebble Beach. The shore at Carmel/Pebble Beach was AMAZING. I almost didn't believe that landscape like that existed. It's sooo different than the beaches on the East Coast.

San Francisco was charming. I stuck to pretty touristy stuff but it was all delightful. I wish I'd had more time to really explore the city.

Most of the time when we visit CA it's to be with relatives, so we stick mostly to San Francisco and the Bay area. It's sort of like a second home, so we're really not the typical visitor.

The touristy stuff in San Francisco is actually what a lot of the locals do too because it is so fun. I will still hop on a trolley car, see Pier 39, or go out to Alcatraz. They are just amazing things to do over and over again.
And you are right, there is a major difference between the beaches out here and the ones on the east coast, though I could just be biased lol.

But even visiting the Bay area there is so much to do. From visiting old town Palo Alto and Menlo Park to having dinner on the bay. Or you could just go for a stroll in Berkley and people watch....trust me that is entertaining lol.

My inlaws used to live in Palo Alto and we would fly out a couple times a year. I loved day trips to Napa, San Francisco and my favorite ... Monterey! They have since moved and I have not been out there in over 6 years. I can't wait to head west again!
