Graduation Cupcakes

I was just invited to a pot-luck elementary school graduation party. I want to bring something cute tha the kids will enjoy and so I was thinking cupcakes are always a hit with kids and I could make them graduation themed. Any ideas on how I should decorate them?

You can make normal cupcakes (chocolate with white frosting, or vanilla with chocolate frosting) and go to your local party store and get some little graduation caps and place them on top. Cute and simple!

Those smiley face graduation cupcakes are really cute. Were those the school colors? I am going to keep them in mind as my oldest son will graduate from college in the spring.

Thanks, no they were not school colors. It was for my twins nursery school graduation. I found that using gel coloring instead of liquid gives the icing a bolder color. The kids all ate the tops of the cupcakes and left the rest :-)
