Weave a Jump Rope
FamilyHost_Jen - October 08, 2009
Like most little girls, mine love to jump rope. They both could use a new jump rope and I found this great jump rope craft to weave your own at FamilyFun.com http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=11961
Now they can make their own and it recycles too! Will you be making this fun craft with your kids?

None of my kids are young enough to make these with, but I am going to share it with my sister as my niece and nephew might have fun making these.

Thank you for this post.
My daughter has always been the type of girl that you could buy anything for, but she would have more fun with a few cans, some glue, and some inspiration.

She is going to love this. She is just beginning to try jump roping, and to actually be able to make one will be even more wonderful. At 8, she is so into being green and recycling...saving the earth.

We have two huge boxes, full of unused tights, that we got from a local fabric/clothing store that went out of business. FINALLY a use for all of them...lol

We have been looking on Family together making a list of things to make for Christmas this year. And this rope is already on her list of presents for the lil ones in the family!

( a little hint for others...if you go to a local fabric store, small clothing store, or local business that sales dancing outfits and accessories, they may have some tights or similar material there for low cost to free. Just ask them for any irregular, 'damaged', or written off items. It is something they usually write off for accounting purposes, and often dump in the garbage.)

Have a great week.
