I use a "dry" sponge called the Gonzo Pet Hair Lifter. It works great! You simply rub the sponge across the area and it gathers up the hair. Just pull off the wad of hair and wipe again. I even use this dry sponge on my mini-blinds, computer screen, lamp shades, car seats, clothes, bedspreads, curtains, my cloth picture frames, etc.. It doesn't leave a residue. I love it. I purchased mine at Altmeyer's Bed, Bath & Home store, but I've seen them at many of the other home stores. If I recall correctly, I only paid $5 or $6 for it.

I will have to get one of these. You'd think my pets would be bald by now with all the hair they throw around the house. Yes, I said throw and not shed. They shake and you can see the hair flying off of them.

Now the the cold weather is here, my cat has started growing her winter coat, but like her breed does, she still continues to shed copious amounts of fur daily. I'm going to get one of those sponges for every member of my family so they can help brush our little fur ball with no excuses that they don't have anything to brush her with.

I may need one of those sponges too as the carpet is gone and the flooring is going in, I am going to see clumps of hair like never before!

Good point, Jennyboots. Carpeting does do a good job of collecting pet hair. After we ripped out our carpeting to uncover the hardwood floor, we soon had more pets in our house than we had bargained for, namely Dust Bunnies! Brushing pet hair at the source really does chase those dust bunnies away. ;-)
