I have Swedish horses, pine garland and stockings on my mantle and Nutcrackers on the hearth... what's on yours?

I have my stockings, garland w/ white lights, angels and pinecones. When Santa comes we lay the stockings on the hearth. So the children can get to them easily(plus they don't fall down)

Since we are unable to hang anything (we are living with family for now) we have placed the stockings over the back of the sofa. The stockings are always too heavy for the mantle hangers after Santa is done with them anyway, so it works out pretty well.

We do hang our stockings with care... on our mantle. They are always a big hit and the kids know santa will find them right away to fill!

Right now our fire place is covered with nativity scenes. Our living room is all decorated with nativities and the real meaning of Christmas. We'll put our stockings up on the mantle on Christmas eve. Our family room in the basement is all decorated with the Santa side of Christmas.

I love your tradition, hanging your stockings on Christmas Eve, that is so neat. I never thought of that. I also like your way of decorating both ways, spiritual and playful!

Our mantle has a village with snow and hanging over the village is santa on his sleigh. In our family it is tradition to hang our stockings after dinner on Christmas Eve. I handmade our stockings so they will hang even after Santa has stuffed them full.

I would have loved to decorate the mantle but we're currently living in an apartment and we don't have any mantle to hang our stockings on so I tried to be creative. I got an old child's rocking chair and bought (real) small stockings from home depot and just pinned our stockings there. Then I put the rocking chair beside our Christmas tree. Abrakadabra!...our family's own version of hanging our Christmas stockings! My kids thought it was cool!

But on the bright side, my sister is bringing home my christmas decorations that i got from the store inside the castle in disneyland paris so thats exciting!
