Real Tree vs. Fake Tree
Jennyboots - November 25, 2008
I just love the smell and look of a real tree, but many folks live by their "permanent" tree.. What do you have for you Christmas?

Its beautiful Jenny! I still have 2 partially decorated trees! I bought the new one and the kids started decorating it. I decided that with 5 boxes of ornaments just for Kev and I, I could decorate the old tree myself! It is in the dining room! Pics later!

We like to go cut our own. My daughter just loves that tradition, tromping around in the cold with some hot cocoa, and you can't beat the smell. We are a little biased against fake trees now ayways. When the hubby and I first got together we decided to invest in a big, beautiful fake tree. 2 days after we brought it home and got it all decorated we came downstairs in the morning to find that our new dog had eaten the ENTIRE thing as far up as he could reach!!! Well after vet visits and days of cleanup we've decided to NEVER try that again - LOL We've been cutting our own since (the dog is 10 now and has never even touched the real trees - weird huh)

It's so much to get a tree, do lights and decorate that we go early and can enjoy it a bit longer.

We always get a real tree I just love the smell and look. We got ours today and this was the first time since the twins were born that we were all able to go together. Sadly by the time we got there the twins were asleep so they didn't get to help pick one out. We ended up getting a pretty big one and when we set it up my daughter said "Wow, that's thebiggest tree ever!" Next year I'll make sure they nap before we go so they get to see all of the trees and help pick it.

I would LOVE a real tree. When I was growing up we always had a real one, but my husband never did. So we have fake ones, since I don't think I could put a real one up myself. I buy a real wreath though, so we have a little bit of the evergreen smell.
