I just started Stray by Rachel Vincent. I was curious because it is about werecats. You hear a lot about other Shape-Shifters, like werewolves, but I hadn't read any about werecats, so I thought I'd try this one. Especially since I like cats...
So far what I've read is ok. There is suspense and an action scene right at the beginning so you get into that right off the bat.
I am near the end of The Awakening by LA Banks, the second in her series of Vampire Huntress books. It is pretty good, except it has a good bit of explaining going on right now. It's almost like this is the "learning" part of the series. But it's about to pick up with fights scenes so we'll see...
I am reading The Last Secret by Mary McGarry Morris. She actually has won a few awards and one of her books was on the Oprah's Book Club list. This one is about a woman who is struggling with family issues and a seedy man from her past. It is good, and easy to read.
I am also reading Still Life With Crows by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I just started it, and am only about ten pages in, but it is already intriguing me. It is about a very similar community to mine. It takes place in southwest Kansas, and I live in southeast Colorado, so I am interested to see what goes on. My husband read it, and he said that he will never go into a cornfield in his life again after reading this book.
