Ok, I am an official charter member of D23...and I love it!! Personally it just makes me feel special to say that I'm a Charter Member!! ;-) Anyway, the D23 magazine is wonderful...and the bonus gift was so cool!! I also like the fact that there is merchandise that only I, as a member can buy...again, that special feeling is enough to send me over the moon! My husband said that it was totally worth it just to see the expression on my face when I got my initial D23 stuff, and even when I continue to get my D23 stuff!! ...so for me, I think it was worth it, but others may not! *on one small note...I think if you live in or near the LA area that you would benefit more from the membership with premiers, shows, and expos!

Well here I am almost a year into my membership and well...I'm not very happy! Don't get me wrong I like being able to buy member only stuff, but it's getting expensive!! But the biggest issues I have are the expos and shows! I would say 98% of the shows are on the west coast (mostly LA area) and when they are actually on the east coast, the tickets are practically impossible to get...especially since they allow members to bring up to 3 guests each!! I have found out that there are more non-members going to these "exclusive" D23 events then actual paying D23 members!!! I ask you, how is it fair that D23 members (who pay for this "exclusive" club) can't even go to D23 events?! When I complained about this I was told "Sorry, but these events have a limited numbers of tickets." My reply..."If there are only a limited number of tickets, then why are you allowing members to bring guests? It should be a members ONLY event, so those of us who are actually paying for these privileges should be the ones attending and getting the free benefits and gifts...not non-members! At least I thought that was the whole point of the D23 club! So needless to say, I will NOT be renewing my membership when the time comes!!

I am a D23 Charter Member and still joined knowing that because I live in Florida, would not have much opportunity to attend many exclusive events. I think it's awesome that they allow members to bring guests. Many times I've wished that as a WDW passholder I could enjoy the benefit of bringing guests to my favorite place on earth. As with many other good and worthwhile things, we must plan far in advance and always be alert to events such as those mentioned. I too have noticed events on my D23 site and seen the events "sold out." I suppose if I checked it more often than twice a month I would stay ahead of the curve! lol So anyway, my point is, don't overlook the benefits we do enjoy, and continue to speak your mind, Ggroves02. Maybe you could direct your concerns higher on the chain of command. Couldn't hurt! Good luck!
