Hi all and Happy Holidays. This year I had my son help me make holiday wreaths for almost every part of our family. I cut up green and/or red christmas material (ie/ had xmas prints on them, either in multicolor or gold/silver). I cut them into strips 1" x 5-6". Using a metal coat hanger which I reshaped into a circle he just had to tie the strips on the hanger. Once it was full (I had to add some at the end to make it really FULL) I just added some ornaments I bought at a Dollar Store (using floral wire) and a simple bow. I think we've made about six of them so far but he likes doing it so we're making even more for those "just in case" kind of gifts you need to give. PS - It's easiest to cut the strips with a rotary cutter to get straight lines. But with this craft it doesn't really matter if the material is cut straight or not. Actually, with varying widths it actually looks nice. Again, Happy Holidays from Ontario

Our family makes a great keepsake garland out of Shrinkydinks. We create small "beads" with our own original artwork or letters to Santa, or wishes for each other from Shrinky Dinks (One full sheet cut into 1/4 or 1/6 works nicely!) Sign and date, put holes in both ends and shrink 'em. Then we string them onto floral wire or sturdy string with additional beads. It is a very inexpensive way to create a beautiful keepsake garland that tells a story. Every year, we just keep adding more memories. I really cherish those miniature letters to Santa that hang right there on my tree! Plus, I can read them with a magnifying glass :) I swear that I am in no way affiliated with the manufacturer of Shrinky Dinks :)
