Homemade Gifts
FamilyHost_Jen - November 25, 2008
With grandparents not needing a thing, this year I am having my kids paint or color pictures (I have already bought the frames) to give to them. I found a really cool apron idea at FamilyFun.com to try too... http://jas.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts?page=CraftDisplay&craftid=10368
Come and share your handmade gift ideas with us today, we want to hear from you!

We did this last year and will keep up the tradition. We got two cardboard circles the size of record albums (remember those? LOL) and cut a 3" hole in the center of one of them. Then we took a picture of Sammy and set it aside until the circles were decorated. The first year we put his little hand prints (we used washable poster paint) all over one side of both circles. He loved doing it! Then we glued his picture so it showed through the hole, then glued the two pieces together with unpainted sides touching.

This year we used his foot prints, since he's walking. We filled the kitchen sink with warm soapy water, then taped a shower curtain to the kitchen floor. After taping the circles to the shower curtain, we put a little puddle of green paint on the shower curtain next to the circles and had him walk on the paint, then walk on the circles. He had so much fun! The circles came out great!

What a great idea... my kids are a bit older than Sammy so when I do this, I will have them draw pictures and sign it, then add the photo! Thanks Mom2SammyW!

I love to make Bath Cones. I take Bath Salt and put it in clear plastic piping bags. I just fill it up alittle bit to make room for Bubble bath or a Blow up bath pillow, and two ball Spunges all different colors. Put the salt in first then either the bath pillow or a small bottle of bubble bath then top it off with the ball spunges. Tie the bag and add whatever you want. I put curling ribbon and punch hole my favorite Chritmas Picture and tie to the curling ribbon. Or make Holiday Cds of my friends Favorite Christmas songs including mine.
One year when I was Younger My mom and I made a glass light up X mas tree and Star of David out of my baby sisters baby food jars. We took all the stickers off and drilled holes into the caps that were still on the jars and added lights! we glued the jars together with clear culking glue. and put all the jars into the Shape we wanted! It was So Pretty when it was Finished. That my ladies was 15 years ago. My baby sister is Now 16 and We still have the baby gerbar food Tree and Star of David!

i really like that idea and for teenage girls you could do a spa themed with bathfizzies and packets of facials. anothar idea for younger girls is to put a little hand towel they have ones when you put it in water and it comes unloose. you could also put little rubber duckeys, lipgloss, shampoo and conditioner you could make diffrent vershions of it to like hair cone with hair prouduts and hair clips and rubber bands or a toy cone for little kids, candy cones, craft cone with little craft kits, sewing cone and many more.

OH, I like this idea. I may try this for my sister. She's no teenager but she'd LOVE this. Great ideas!
